岜沙有吃新节、芦笙节、映山红节、鬼节等节日，有斗牛、吃相思、荡秋千、跳芦笙、集体围猎、成年剃发仪式等风俗，有奇特的竹编饭盒、精美的手工钢制针盒、刺绣猎袋、牛角火药筒等民间工艺品，完全自成一个世界

这个有350户，1900多人的大寨至今没有一辆马拉车，手拉车，人们运货，进县城赶集都是肩挑手提，徒步行走。村里人认为，畜力运输工具载量大，砍伐树木就会多，破坏森林及环境

岜沙人认为，每一棵树都有一个灵魂，越是古老的树就越有神性，而山头的树木更被视为岜沙的神木。由于这种植物崇拜的观念，他们不愿意伐林垦地，而除了农业，他们又没有其它的经济收入，因此，常常陷入困窘之中

岜沙人爱护树木的良好习俗是从古代沿袭而来，成为必须遵守的不成文的村规民约。村里有一规定；如果有人盗伐古树，一经发现要罚120斤米，120斤猪肉、120斤酒，让全寨人吃，以示警告。因此，村民们上山拾柴都自觉保护幼苗和树干，只修剪权枝或砍枯树。偶尔也伐一些杂木，打成捆挑到城里卖。
